Today we did our regular duties along with washing all of the towels, not just the hand towels and bath mats in the bathrooms. It seems to take forever to dry clothes here, guess it's the humidity. Some of the students must have been given a break to study or work on their projects as many were roaming about while we're trying to clean. Sandy knocks on the doors before entering, so what do you do when someone answers?? in Russian?? wait for him to open the door...then how do you explain I need to take your trash and your dirty towels?? Well, you use a lot of pointing and hand gestures.
Tomorrow will be our first church service with the students. The Indiana pastor & professor that is here will be preaching, the Ukraine students are in charge of the service with the Russian students assisting. We had the pleasure of hearing the 5 Uzbekistan students practicing their song for tomorrow. They are very good singers.
We all wrote a little encouraging statement on some Arizona postcards, then each of us signed them and put from Chandler Christian Church at the bottom. This will be our gift to the students next week before we leave. We are not supposed to leave much more than this, because the student's culture is reciprocity. We don't want anything in return from them, we just want them to know we care about them and are praying for them. All we ask in return is that they evangelize in their own countries where we could not.

After today's heat this all certainly looks very inviting! But our towels do dry quickly! It's wonderful what you're doing there by being able to encourage these students. Our prayers will be going home with them as well. We definitely are looking forward to hearing and seeing more about your whole trip. By the way where's Sandy's picture???????
